The Nessie Project is participating in the annual Student Autonomous Underwater Challenge – Europe.

This competition tries to challenge a new generation of engineers to build an intelligent vehicle and perform realistic missions in the underwater environment. The teams must comprise a minimum of 75% full time students.

It is sponsored by British Ministry of Defence in association with Southampton University and Heriot Watt University. 

The first Challenge took place in August 2006 in Pinewood Studios, London and our team was classified in 2nd position.
